Tiki becomes a big hit in ring

-

TIKI Fraser is a striking young woman in every sense.

The stunning 17- year- old model from Brisbane is jetting off soon to the Bahamas but not for another beachside photo shoot – she’s a national boxing champion representing Australia at the Commonwealth Youth Games in July.

While Tiki aims to one day be a heavy hitter in the world of fashion, right now she’s the most feared female slugger in Queensland – a 185cm lean, mean, fighting machine who admits she loves to drop her right hand bomb on opponents from long range.

And she’s not worried about her good looks being a casualty of a tough, physical sport, saying that going toeto- toe is more exciting than posing for the cameras.

Her trainer Ben Harrington has spent three years moulding Tiki into one of Australian boxing’s big guns in the lead- up to next year’s Commonwealth Games and says more than a few grown men have left his gym at the Pine Rivers PCYC never to return after getting a boxing lesson from the 66kg powerhouse.

“I’ve seen tough looking blokes turn up here with their utes and their tattoos saying they want to be fighters,’’ he said.

“I put them in the ring with Tiki and after she opens up, they don’t come back.

“Tiki is a very heavy puncher – because she’s so co- ordinated and has such long arms and legs. She throws big straight punches that come from long range.’’
