Firebirds set to make hot run to finals

THERE are only two rounds left before the Super Netball finals and we’re ready to make a late charge with the Firebirds.

We kept our finals hopes alive with a good win over the Thunderbirds in our last home game and we take a lot of confidence from that performance.

It gave us the opportunity to see the aspects of our game that we still need to work on at training and we know what we have to put out on the court.

We have a really important game against the top- of- thetable Giants in Sydney tonight and they’ll definitely be on a high after they had a good win against Vixens last weekend.

It’ll be a tough game for us, but hopefully we can give them a run for their money. We only lost to them by five goals earlier in the season and we were really happy with how we played.

We ran with them for most of the game, but it was just that last quarter we lost it and we’ve improved a lot since then.

We just have to focus on our own game and we need to make sure we’re doing that for full 60 minutes, capitalising on turnovers and bringing the ball down court at our pace.

We can still make the finals if we beat the Giants tomorrow and then the NSW Swifts next weekend, but we just have to take the games as they come.

It all depends on what happens with other teams as well so as long as we’re all concentrating on our own games then we’ll give ourselves a good chance.
