INI THE PINK

-

TOWNSVILLE reality television couple Caroline and Kingi Tahana are preparing for an extension ... but this time it’s not to their home, but their family.

The couple, who are known for their stint on The Block in 2015, are expecting a second child in October.

Caro said the pregnancy would force her to take things a bit easier this year. “We finished the renovation ... I didn’t want to be renovating a house while I was pregnant,” she said. “So we got that done and all the stars lined up.”

The couple’s daughter, Halia ( pictured), turns five in August and Caro said she was already excited to be a big sister.

“She’s cranky because she wants a girl but we don’t know what we’re having,” she said. “We told her it might be a boy but she said she doesn’t want it to be a boy.”

The couple made the announcement on social media on Mother’s Day, but the secret was already out to people who had seen Caro’s baby bump at recent public appearances.

“I couldn’t really hide it any more,” she said. “A lot of people were noticing it more and more. I think some people were wondering if I’d eaten too many cupcakes.” WHEN Mareeba model Gracyn Marsterton ( pictured) flies to Brisbane for the Queensland Miss World finals next month, a Townsville designer will share a bit of the glory. After being chosen for the finals, Marsterton rang Peta Cripps of Peta C Dressmaking to ask her to make the gown. Cripps says she has ordered fabric from overseas to create the pink gown and it would hopefully arrive by express post next week. “We decided to do pastels because of Gracyn’s beautiful blonde hair,” she said. “The dress will be very elegant and a bit sexy. I’ve known of Gracyn for about four years now. I’ve really seen her develop over the years since I first met her at the Fashion Bash.” Marsterton, 20, is following in the footsteps of Tully beauty Madeline Cowe, who was last year crowned Miss World Australia. She will travel to Townsville early next month for a fitting of her ball gown before the June 16 event. FESTIVAL queens Lucy Jackson and Nikki Westcott of popular Instagram account We The Wild Ones have been making their mark at the Mercedes- Benz Fashion Week in Sydney in designer threads. The social media influencers, who attended James Cook University, were dressed by Sass and Bide at the acclaimed fashion label’s Monday night show. The 20- somethings have more than 65,000 Instagram followers.
