GAMING SUPERHEROES V VILLAINS VOLUME 2

-

to Marvel and DC Comics superheroes are blanketing a large portion of popular media. Netherrealm Studios ( the guys who created Mortal Kombat) have added a new patch to this entertainment blanket.

is a fighting game for PS4 and Xbox One that allows us to answer all the important questions: Can Superman beat Batman? Can Blue Beetle defeat Black Canary? Can Dr Fate defeat Swamp Thing? What? Sorry, Swamp who?

Okay clearly my comic knowledge is rusty, but with a fighting roster boasting over 30 characters, the game definitely drinks deeply into comic lore to provide much needed variety into this epic brawler.

The story in is a direct continuation from the first game but you know it doesn’t really matter. They just had to come up with another reason to get all the superheroes and villains to whale on each other again, and that’s fine.

But this time they are much better looking. And they fight faster, making for a much more fluid and tense gaming experience. As an added bonus players now receive loot ... precious loot! As you play you’ll be rewarded with items that let you tinker with your heroes’ appearance, which will also make them stronger. This is a common feature for fighting games that adds another layer of replayability in a game genre that often can grow stale outside of competitive multiplayer. So go nuts! I recommend Harley Quinn who is somehow able to beat up godlike people with a bat.
