are some things which are hard to live down and for actor Jason Priestly that’s playing Brandon Walsh in Beverly Hills, 90210.

Almost three decades after he was the ultimate high school pin- up, the 47year- old admits time has taken its toll.

“I look more like Brandon’s dad than Brandon now,” he says with a laugh.

In his new drama series, Private Eyes, the Canadian actor has transformed again as ex- pro hockey player, turned private investigator Matt Shade, starring opposite Cindy Sampson as fellow detective Angie Everett.

Together they dig into murders, jewellery heists and all manner of crime capers, with the fast- paced plot lines keeping things moving for the cast and crew.

“We never get stuck in the monotony of feeling like we’re shooting the same show,” says Priestley. “A new case comes through the door every week and we have to immerse ourselves in a new world and that makes it challenging.”

Although Priestley “bulked up” for the role by working out, his idea to shadow real life private investigators got shot down.

“I talked to some guys who are private eyes and they talked me out of going on cases with them because they convinced me that what they do as a private eye isn’t nearly as exciting as it looks on television,” he says.
