THE home of the North Queensland Cowboys will continue to be known as 1300SMILES Stadium until the end of its life after the dental group renewed their naming rights for another two years.

The re- signing extends the naming deal until the end of 2019, meaning 1300 SMILES Dentists will be the final naming sponsors of the current stadium.

Negotiations are still under way for the naming rights of the new North Queensland Stadium set to become home to the Cowboys from 2020 onwards.

1300SMILES managing director Dr Daryl Holmes said he was a proud North Queensland resident and Cowboys fan, and was happy to invest in a facility that meant so much to the local community.

“It’s been a fantastic four years on and off the field, from the Cowboys Premiership win in 2015 to other great events like Keith Urban in 2014, Cold Chisel in 2015 and Nitro Circus earlier this month,” he said.

“In 2013 we had dental practices throughout Queensland but 1300 SMILES Stadium has helped us increase our brand recognition nationally. We have a big six months ahead with the rest of the Cowboys season, as well as several Rugby League World Cup matches.

“I’m pleased to continue this relationship and look forward to many great events at 1300 SMILES Stadium over the next two years.”

North Queensland Cowboys CEO Greg Tonner said he was delighted that 1300 SMILES had decided to extend their naming rights for another two years.

“We’d like to thank 1300 SMILES for their continued investment in our home ground and the North Queensland region,” he said.

“Their passion for our community and our club is much appreciated and it’s wonderful news that our team will continue to play in the best- named stadium in Australia.”

1300 SMILES Stadium venue manager Glenn Arboit said 1300 SMILES was a great fit for the local stadium.

“As a Townsville- based company, 1300 SMILES is passionate about the community and our local team, and we’re delighted 1300 SMILES has seen the benefits of naming rights sponsorship and the value it brings to their local and national business,” he said.

“The extension is a huge win for the stadium and for Townsville, as the funds contribute to the ongoing maintenance of the venue.”
