HEALING POWER OF MUSIC

-

all feel the same: truly heartbroken over the needless and senseless violent acts that take place in this world.

But we know that sometimes something truly beautiful can come out of something so dark.

Watching Ariana Grande’s One Love Manchester benefit concert was one of these moments. It showed the true power of music and the power of sharing your vulnerabilities.

The Manchester bombings took place on May 22, with 22 innocent victims losing their lives and countless others being seriously injured.

The benefit concert was held to raise money for those affected by the tragedy, but I think collectively it lifted the world a little bit.

I was tearing up watching the live stream as the artists hit the stage in front of over 50,000 emotional fans.

Firstly, putting a gig together that big in such a short time is amazing.

But, secondly, having people choose to attend that event in light of further attacks in the UK proves how special it was. I’ve never been a huge Ariana Grande fan, but watching her bravely take to the stage in her jeans and “one love” Manchester white jumper, holding back tears and pushing on through her quivering voice was seriously something.

With Coldplay, Robbie Williams, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, the Black Eyed Peas, Katy Perry and ( hello) Liam Gallagher just some of those who performed with everything they had to put a bit of sunlight into the world you realise how magical music really is.
