STAR POWER ON BL OCK

- KRISTY SYMONDS

CHANNEL 9 is the latest major network to throw celebrities into the mix to compete against everyday people in their reality TV juggernauts.

Nine last night unveiled its latest batch of The Block contestants and the 2017 line- up includes former North Queensland Cowboy Clint Amos and his wife Hannah.

The Queensland couple featuring in the upcoming season also know a thing or two about celebrity status, with former NRL star Amos, 34, and his wife Hannah, 31, ( right) tackling their first ever renovation on the series.

Amos played for the Cowboys and Gold Coast Titans during his eight- year professional rugby league career.

After retiring he worked for the Cowboys and Gedoun Property Group in Townsville before moving to Melbourne late last year.

He and Hannah have been together for 11 years and have two young children, five- year- old Finn and three- year- old Poppy, together.

“I’ve got mixed feelings about leaving the kids,” Hannah said. “But we’re doing this for our family.” High- profile Melbourne- based model and social media influencer Elyse Knowles ( below), 24, and her carpenter boyfriend of three years Josh Barker, 27, have also joined the show.

Knowles, who has 600,000 followers on Instagram and has worked for Billabong and Guess, said that despite her success she’s a bogan and a tomboy at heart.

“My sister said to me, ‘ Just one thing, Elyse. If you do get on the show, just don’t do your laugh.’ I sound really bogan,” she said.
