Truck driver fights for life

A MAN is fighting for his life in hospital after he rolled his semitrailer 15km north of Bowen.

Early investigations suggest the 55- year- old had approached roadworks near Euri Creek, when he drove off the road and rolled down the embankment.

The man was trapped in the cab of the truck for a short time, before he was pulled out in a critical condition with lifethreatening head and chest injuries. He was rushed to Bowen Hospital, before being flown to Townsville Hospital, where he was in a critical condition late yesterday.
