Tough break for Corby as she hobbles into hospital

-

HAVING danced around the media since arriving home from Bali, Schapelle Corby will be a lot easier to catch after breaking her leg.

The drug smuggler, 39, was yesterday in a Gold Coast hospital for treatment, arriving on crutches.

Corby posted a photo of herself on Instagram on a hospital bed with what appears to be a pack over her knee.

In the post she hashtags broken leg, broken ankle and broken knee and it is not known which of the three she has actually sustained. “Hi guys. This is why you haven’t seen me in a while … # sickbay # brokenleg # brokenankle # brokenknee,” Corby told her almost 200,000 Instagram followers.

The post came after Corby was photographed earlier entering the John Flynn Private Hospital at Tugun, near where her sister Mercedes lives.

Corby hobbled on crutches into the hospital, a grey scarf over her head. Earlier in the day she was visiting a friend at Tugun, where she was also seen on crutches, arriving about 10am.

Corby has not spoken publicly or given any interviews since her return to Australia on May 28 but has used an Instagram account she set up on the day of her release from parole to give regular updates on her life in Australia.

Her last post before yesterday was one week ago when she posted a fun video of herself and sister Meleane Ki- sina singing along to an Ed Sheeran song and with big ears.

While Corby has, until now, managed to give the media the slip since returning from Bali, she certainly hasn’t been living in hiding. Her Instagram followers have been given an insight into her adventures including trips to the beach and a farmers’ market.

Corby’s 15- year drug smuggling sentence ended on May 27 when she was deported from Bali to Brisbane.
