Uncanny tipster’s $ 5000 windfall

-

A COUPLE of wins coming in the final minutes of games in the NRL and AFL at the weekend has won one lucky Townsville Bulletin reader $ 5000.

Jarrod Clarke, 25, won the jackpot in the Bulletin’s Tip and Win competition, picking all the winners in the weekend’s games across both codes.

The seasoned punter put his windfall down to plenty of study of the form guide – and a little bit of luck.

“I studied the form pretty closely and picked who I thought would be in good form,” said Mr Clarke ( pictured). “I’m ecstatic, I couldn’t believe it. There were a couple of upsets and a few games that went to the last minutes.

“I’ll probably just use the money to pay a few bills, just on the essentials.”

Mr Clarke said he had a rough idea who would win both the NRL and AFL premierships this year.

“I think Melbourne Storm will win the NRL. I tipped the Sharks last year and got that right,” he said.

“In the AFL, I’d have to say the GWS, they are going well. Maybe Melbourne, you never know in the AFL, it’s a real close competition.”

To play Townsville Bulletin Tip and Win, simply cut out the entry form from the paper every Wednesday and pick your winners in each game of that weekend’s NRL and AFL games before lodging your entry. See the entry form tomorrow for more details.
