HAMISH AND ANDY RULE

-

and Andy are cross media kings. They are the pick of the bunch, the top of the tree, and the best in the business.

In a world full of chew ’ em up and spit me out reality photocopies, Ham and Ando have managed to carve out their own rather impressive piece of the pie. In fact if you look at the numbers they pretty much are the whole pie. They’re even the tomato sauce on the top of it. With a number one radio show, national television show and a social media base that would impress a Kardashian, the boys are everywhere. It makes me sound old, but they really are the modernday Bert Newton and Graham Kennedy: two blokes with incredible chemistry having a good time and making their fans laugh.

They’ve done it again with their new television series, True Story with Hamish & Andy. The premise for his TV gem is so simple I’m a little disappointed I didn’t think of it.

The boys sit opposite an everyday Aussie who talks them through a true but very hard to believe story. While the tale is being told some of Australia’s finest actors bring the story to life. It’s the old “fact is stranger than fiction” thing in television form.

The idea is a simple one, but it’s equally brilliant. In a TV landscape full of reality, re- runs and shows that end with the word “rules” ( House, My Kitchen, etc), True Story really is a breath of fresh air.
