‘ Schoolteacher’ messed up with his ‘ homework’

- GRANTLEE KIEZA

JEFF Horn’s team have made a monumental blunder by not training in America for Sunday’s fight and not using an array of slick left- handed sparring partners, according to a key member of Manny Pacquiao’s team.

Pacquiao’s Australian strength and conditioning coach Justin Fortune ( pictured) said the Fighting Schoolteacher hadn’t done his “homework’’ and would be totally outclassed by the old master at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday.

While Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach says Horn is a “danger man’’ and has the punch to derail Pacquiao, Fortune remains dismissive of Horn.

“Why wouldn’t I be dismissive,’’ Fortune said. ‘‘ Manny is one of the greats and Jeff Horn is in a different league. If Manny puts his mind to it he destroys anybody in the world. He’s busted up some of the greats. Jeff Horn is the guy to knock out and we’re in the hurt business.’’

Fortune, a former Australian champion who once fought world heavyweight king Lennox Lewis in Dublin, said Horn should have spent eight weeks in America against the best sparring partners available.

“Then you might have given him a real shot if he’d been training with A- grade guys all the time.

“Instead he’s been using ( Filipino) Czar Amonsot as a sparring partner and he is nowhere near as fast as Manny. Not even close. Horn won’t know what him hit because Manny is that quick.’’
