Diving ‘ bullet’ to revolutionise surf lifesaving
QUEENSLAND lifesavers could soon be using a new jet- powered rescue “bullet” that rockets through the surf and dives underwater.
The German- made Seabob device can dive up to 40m beneath the surface and rescue as many as 10 people at once. It underwent trials by state lifesaving bodies this week and could be unleashed on Queensland beaches this summer.
Seabob Australia operations manager Oliver Volante said it could “revolutionise” lifesaving.
