Giving back to the community

WHILE teaching the skills of the trade and making students jobready is paramount to Tec- NQ, putting the lessons learned back into the community in terms of construction projects donated to fundraising events is a win- win for both the students of Tec- NQ and the charities that benefit.

Here is a list of work to date that has been contributed to fundraising events by the students of Tec- NQ:

• Anzac Memorial and benches for Townsville General Hospital’s Army Veteran patients

• Log cabin for 65 Roses to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis Queensland

• Pool table for BussQ with funds going to Mates- 4- Mates

• Pool table for NRL Cowboys House • Pool table for Tec- NQ House • Cubby House for BussQ with funds going to Mates- 4- Mates

• Popcorn stand, lemonade stand, kissing booth, arcade games for Townsville Hospital Foundation and Give Me 5 for Kids

• Cubby house for Burdekin Relay for Life with funds going to the Cancer Council

• Chicken coop for Village Kids Gulliver

• Gingerbread house for Townsville Hospital Foundation
