Buddy’s boot keeps Swans season alive

-

THE Sydney Swans have kept their finals hopes alive with superstar Lance Franklin guiding them to a 11.19.85- 7.8.50 victory over the Melbourne Demons at the MCG last night.

Buddy Franklin led all scorers with four goals as the resurgent Swans toppled a Demons side that failed to ever reach top gear.

Sydney dominated the game early but blew it with eight behinds whereas Melbourne piled on four goals without a blemish.

The behinds kept coming for the Swans, but mixed in with those were a clutch of four goals to Franklin, Isaac Heeney, Kieren Jack and Tom Papley in the second term that gave the visitors a handy break. The Demons kicked the opening goal of the third term within four minutes when Tom McDonald took advantage of a free kick to give the Demons some hope but the Swans kicked the remaining three goals of the term

Melbourne kicked the opening goal of the final term when Jake Melksham scored but successive Franklin goals ended hope of a Demons revival.
