Witts plays down praise

-

JARROD Witts ( left) is happy with his form in his first year at the Suns but isn’t buying into talk he is the surprise packet of the season.

Witts has been one of the most consistent performers all season for the Suns and earned the praise of his coach Rodney Eade for being the one shining light in the poor showing against Sydney at the SCG on Saturday.

Eade claims Witts is one of the best ruckmen in the competition and has been underrated by the public.

Witts, a former Magpie, puts his form down to the new ruck rules and greater opportunity.

“I knew I could play at this level, I just needed to get some continuity and build from there,” he said.

“I feel like I have had a solid year but I have a long way to go.”
