BACH STRAIN

-

KEEN viewers of The Bach Bachelorl couldld have seen the writing on the wall for our two Townsville candidates, Stacey Simpson and Monica Brown, when they didn’t even warrant much screen time on the premiere of the show on Wednesday night.

Sure enough they were the first two contestants to be knocked out, never even getting to settle into the Bachie mansion before they were shown the door. But did you spot the other curious thing about Stacey’s appearance?

She entered the show wearing her 2015 Miss Personality sash from that year’s Miss V8 Supercars competition but anything referring to the V8s was blurred out. The producers obviously weren’t too keen to give Supercars a plug.

Meanwhile Monica, 26, ( inset) says she really doesn’t mind getting knocked out of the show so early.

“It was a relief,” she said. “I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. It was fun, it was interesting ... but I had no idea that there were so many big personalities and to get them all in one room ...”

As for Bachelor Matty J, Monica said there was “no connection”.

Monica, who moved to Melbourne from Townsville in 2015, was a regular on the promo model circuit in North Queensland but saidd she didn’t have plans to capitalise on her 15 minutes of fame.

“It’s not something I’m after,” she said. “Maybe a few years ago I would have been but I don’t really do much modelling these days. I’m happy to be the face on a TV show for five minutes ... it’s back to everyday life. I just want to be chilled out for a while.”
