INJURY SETBACK WON’T STOP MARTIN IN GRUDGE MATCH AGAINST PANTHERS THIS CAT’S GOT CLAWS

-

TE Maire Martin isn’t about to let a minor injury prevent him from taking the field against the club which dumped him.

The talented 21- year- old half did not train with the Cowboys yesterday after suffering a knock to the knee against the Storm last week, but is expected to be fine to take on the Panthers on Saturday night for the first time since a mid- season switch to North Queensland.

Martin played the first seven games of the season for Penrith but fell out of favour and was axed to reserve grade before heading North. He was prepared to cop a few jibes from his old teammates but expected both teams to be focused on the potentially season- defining clash. “If we get a win here then it will set us up well for the last three games,” he said.
