Maywyn Accolades charges late to grab a burger with the lot
MAYWYN Accolades produced a big finish to take out the Rossvale Fish & Burger Bar 4/ 5th Grade Final over 380m at the Townsville Showgrounds on Tuesday night.
Favourite Bundy Cutter ( 6) began well for the feature race with Maywyn Accolades ( 1) and Sky Lark ( 3) just behind.
Racing along the straight, Maywyn Accolades joined Bundy Cutter battling it out for the lead and hit the front, with Sky Lark coming up the inside.
Maywyn Accolades scored by a half- length in 21.83 seconds for trainer John Barrow, with Sky Lark for Michael Hickmott second and Bundy Cutter for Michael Hickmott third.
There were also a couple of 498m races as trainers prepare their dogs for the Townsville Cup heats on August 26.
Race 5 was the Burdekin Vet Services 5th Grade over 498m.
At the jump Brother Rob ( 1) began well, but he received a slight check, putting him off his stride while Not A Word ( 8) hit the lead going through the catching pen and got away.
Brother Rob took off after him with Dusky Silk ( 7) and Watch Out Renald ( 3) coming off the bend into the straight.

Race 8 was the Bohle Barn Hotel Motel 4/ 5th Grade 498m.
This was a good field to watch with Chips Ahoy ( 4) beginning well to take the lead, with Whatta Pass ( 2) and Riff ( 6) fighting it out for second.
Chips Ahoy grabbed a break on the field and went on to win by a half- length in 28.99, with Whatta Pass coming home second and Innocent man ( 3) flying along the rails for third.
