Mother pleads for missing daughter to return home

- ANDREW BACKHOUSE

A TOWNSVILLE mother has made an emotional appeal for any information about her daughter who vanished without trace from Mount Isa on January 14.

Rosemary McLean, 51, was last seen at Lake Moondara about 9am in a green 1999 Toyota Landcruiser station wagon with her two dogs.

The mother of three hasn’t been seen or heard from since and her bank account remains untouched.

Her mother Joyce Connolly said she seemed to have disappeared off the face of the Earth.

On the day Mrs McLean went missing, Mrs Connolly had talked about moving back to Townsville.

They had an argument and Mrs McLean drove off.

Mrs Connolly said her daughter had also been having a disagreement with her husband.

He was working at a mine on the day she vanished.

Yesterday Mrs McLean’s niece Carlene A’Hang read a message directed at her.

“Please come home, we love and miss you,” she said.

Mrs Connolly also read a statement directed to her daughter.

“Your children ... and your three grandchildren all are missing you and love you very much.

“Please call a family member or a friend. Rosemary it’s Mum I’m so sorry for leaving you that Saturday morning ... then not being able to call each other. I’m living with the biggest mistake of my life. I will always love you and miss you so much.

“Please come home Rosemary.”
