EMMA’S A BEAUTY AS SALON RESCUED

-

A YOUNG T Townsville ille woman has saved a business from closure.

The hairdresser salon formerly known as Teddi’s Hairdressing was to be closed after owner Gavin Short said he could not find any staff willing to work.

He is still operating Teddi’s Barbers at Hermit Park. But Emma Frazer, 22, has saved the salon from the chop and changed the name to Eva Hair and Beauty Boutique. She did her barber and hairdressing apprenticeship in Townsville and has worked full time since finishing school.

She had saved enough money to purchase the business from Mr Short at what she called “a good price”.

“They were going to close the business and it was ready to start trading straight away,” she said.

Ms Frazer said many of her regular customers had followed her from the salon she previously managed, also in Hermit Park.

She has plans to transform the salon and the renovation will include a fresh lick of paint and fitout.

“I want to make it have more of a boutique feel for clients,” she said.

The issue of finding staff does not concern her.

“For the moment I’m happy to work hard,” she said.

The new business owner said many people had been shocked at her age.

“I’m 22 and saved up, but no one believes me,” she said.
