IN SICKNESS AND IN HEALTH

-

We’re in the midst of a pretty nasty late flu season, and if it hasn’t struck you down already there’s a good chance one of your treasured colleagues will give it to you when they refuse to take a day off. But in the interests of being prepared for the inevitable, here’s a list of the best shows to binge when you’re feeling sick and sorry for yourself — because TV is your saviour in sickness ( and in health). When you’re feeling under the weather sometimes all you need is a little help from your friends. If you’re anything like me, then you’ve already watched all 10 seasons from start to finish 20+ times, but it doesn’t really matter because Friends will still be there for you. A show about nothing? Sounds like the perfect way to turn off the brain and get some much needed R & R. And having company like Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer is better than all the drugs the pharmacist can provide — not that there’s anything wrong with that. With all its hilarious homages to pop culture classics, Community is basically like watching a whole lifetime’s worth of TV and movies in just a couple of seasons. It’s a genius way to increase productivity without even having to leave the couch or put on pants. Take that boss! with this dysfunctional bunch will have you feeling a whole lot better about yourself. Plus, it’s warmer and fuzzier than your favourite blanket. on your own little island, so you may as well make things interesting by chucking in a polar bear and weird smoke monster. And if you’re completely lost as to what’s going on after around season two, then you’ve got the perfect excuse! Remember what it was like being able to taste stuff? How good was that! But having no sense of taste or appetite is an excellent time to watch this doco series about some of the world’s most innovative food visionaries because there’s no risk of your TV binge turning into a food one. # winning
