PLAYING THE GO AT

-

TOWNSVILLE personal trainer Rachel Dillon’s main claim to fame may be as two- time bikini world champion but now she can add entrepreneur and designer to her credentials.

Dillon has teamed up with Sydney fitness model Lauren Simpson to launch their own line, Amor Swimwear in December.

Dillon took to Instagram to share the news with her 355,000 followers, sharing that the first launch of the swimwear will take place “just in time for Aussie summer”, promising worldwide shipping and affordable prices.

“So many of you have been asking where I get my bikinis from, well excitingly they are our own samples,” she said.

“We are very excited and cannot wait to share this journey with you.”

Townsville photographer Matthew Gianoulis has also played a part in the launch of the designs, shooting photographs of the fitness models in their new line. HE may only be seven years old, but Torino Brodie is no stranger to the spotlight.

Torino is one of the newest stars of television talent show Little Big Shots and will appear in Sunday night’s episode with one of his goats.

The young goat handler from Centauri Station, 30km from Charters Towers, has been showing goats for about five years. He has won 10 awards and is a regular at the Ekka in Brisbane.

It might therefore come as no surprise that he wasn’t nervous about talking to host Shane Jacobsen about his passion for goats, and even giving a milking demonstration.

“I’m used to it all the time,” he said. “Every year at the Brisbane Show I end up on the news.”

Torino, a third generation goat breeder, said he likes his goats so much “because they love me forever and ever no matter what”.

Mum Jen Brodie said Torino didn’t apply but was approached by the television show.

“We’d seen it on the TV but we’re living in the back of beyond and we knew it was filmed in Sydney. We think he’s pretty special but we weren’t sure it was worth the effort. “Torino got found by his YouTube channel. “On the last weekend in April we went down and filmed.”

Torino said his friends were pretty impressed to hear about the show and he’s already certain of his next step.

“I’m going to keep showing goats,” he said. With their Bambi- like spotted coat, chital deer are about as cute as anything on four legs can get. But, underneath that attractive spotted coat beats the heart of a declared Class Two pest. This is a national issue, not a state one, and now we’re on board perhaps Victoria, Tasmania, supermarket delicatessens and greengrocery sections will be shamed into reducing our reliance on plastic
