A WOMAN whoh l leadsd one of f N Northh Queensland’s largest and longest establishe­d earthmovin­g companies has scooped a major new award.

Teri Humphreys, managing director of Townsville Earthmovin­g, ( pictured) was named Businesswo­man of the Year at the inaugural Townsville Business Women’s Circle awards on Saturday.

Judges said Ms Humphreys satisfied all criteria and had shown outstandin­g leadership to adapt and diversify the privately owned business to achieve significan­t growth during difficult economic times.

Townsville Earthmovin­g, establishe­d in 1978, is involved in all facets of civil constructi­on, operates plant hire and undertakes pro- ject management and property developmen­t Beaches of Townsville.

Ms Humphreys told 200 guests at the Ville Resort Casino the award would not have been possible without the support of her mother and late father, her husband and children and her “amazing” staff. “I am so proud, I am so humbled,” she said. In other categories, Physio Vida director Jennifer Plath was named Emerging Business Woman of the Year, Kylie Bartlett of Kim Bartlett Master Jewellers won the Empowering Woman of the Year and ANZ district manager Rachal- Ann Jones was named Corporate Business Woman of the Year.
