Lots Of Time can clock up Futurity win

- LEE PEARCE

GREYHOUND racing returns to the Townsville Showgrounds tonight with an 11- race program including the Townsville Futurity and Derby Final.

Race 7 is the Townsville Futurity Final over 498m.

In- form greyhound Lots Of Time ( 2), for Robert Lound, won the 4/ 5th Grade Final last week over 380m and is having her first look over this distance. She has good box speed and, if she can begin well, will run a bold race.

Sliding Doors ( 8), for Rhonda Essery, is also a model of consistency. She has had two starts over the distance and looks a place chance.

Natty’s On Fire ( 1) has drawn well and has explosive speed from the boxes and will be hard to catch.

Slow Dancer ( 5) fell at her last start over the distance, but she is better than recent form shows and only needs to jump clear of the field.

Race 8 is the Townsville Derby Final over 498m. Hez Boby Dazzler, ( 1) for Allan Metcalfe, is drawn well and can begin on his night. He is having his first look at the distance, but has each- way claims.

Go Gwan ( 4) for Rhonda Essery has two placings over this distance behind Riff and Not A Word and looks a place chance. Riff ( 6), for Harold Hovi, is a smart beginner and has run 28.78 seconds over this distance.

Innocent Man ( 5), for Glen Olsen, has drawn the squeeze but has a best time of 28.86. He needs to jump clear, but has a good finish as a place chance.

Whatta Pass ( 7) is the kennelmate of Innocent Man. He is only a moderate beginner, but has good mid- race pace with a good finish.

Race 6 is the FV Napier Best 8 over 380m. Favourite Maywyn Accolades ( 1), for John Barrow, had won three straight before a fall in last week’s sprint final. She will appreciate the inside draw and will be hard to beat.

Backstreet Boy ( 4) for Harold Hovi will be a danger to the favourite.

He has moderate box manners and quick acceleration once he hits the ground and can finish well.
