Moving up in eventful way

- CHRISTIE ANDERSON

AN EVENT company has moved into new premises with triple the floor space after expanding their services.

Pure Events Australia have said goodbye to their 400sq m building in Kirwan and relocated to Dean St in the city giving them 1300sq m of space.

Colin Bancroft, who owns the business with his wife Renee, said they started out hiring audio and visual equipment but were now a one- stop shop for events.

“Most of what we do is audio and visual and lighting but by moving we’ve moved into supplying everything else for events,” he said.

“We outgrew where we were and we were literally out of room and couldn’t operate properly so we decided to get a bigger premises.

“We also wanted to be in the city because 90 per cent of our clients are here.”

The business now hires out everything from tables and chairs to decorations, lighting and marquees.

They also have a huge showroom of stock on display.

Mr Bancroft said they had had some great feedback from clients and were in the process of hiring more staff to keep up with demand.

“Even though we are pro- moting weddings a lot now 80 per cent of our work is corporate,” he said. “We do everything from conferences to award presentations, ( Australian) Defence Force ceremonies and Legacy balls.

“A lot of people are time poor and they seem to be looking for somebody to do everything and take control of the event so that’s why we wanted to be that one- stop shop.”
