Sky message urges no- vote

-

THE Coalition for Marriage has denied it was responsible for an enormous same- sex marriage message scrawled across Sydney’s skyline yesterday.

The phrase “vote no” appeared in skywriting above the city about 11am.

It came the day after the Coalition for Marriage, the main group opposing any change to marriage law, launched its campaign in Sydney.

“The skywriting is not organised by Coalition for Marriage,” a spokeswoman said. “It seems to be grassroots action. People are speaking out.”

The message appears to have been organised through a Go Fund Me campaign, which raised more than $ 2300.

The page, whose author was not identified, declared it was “time for traditional Australian’s ( sic) to take a stand”.

The author claimed opponents to same- sex marriage had been “bullied into silence” and “condemned” for their views.
