WOMEN love flowers what do you give men?

A couple from Toowoomba believe they have the answer – the best cuts of meat.

Diesel mechanic Sean Kennedy and his fiancee, accountant Elizabeth Andrew, have started a new business delivering meat trays as gifts to Queensland centres, including Townsville.

Mr Kennedy said that whether you wanted to thank a bloke for a good deed or find a way to his heart, people often found it difficult to know what to give.

“We think we have the solution – say it with meat,” Mr Kennedy said.

They have launched a web- but site, called Say It With Meat, and arranged with suppliers to deliver meat trays valued between $ 40 and $ 80.

Townsville butcher Sunvale Meats is the local supplier.

Sunvale Meats operator Paul Bonner said he thought it was an idea worth trying.

“It’s something we thought we may as well get involved in. It’s something a little bit special and personal,” Mr Bonner said. “People always enjoy a good steak. “Father’s Day went OK.” Mr Kennedy said they had launched the business in Toowoomba, Mackay, Townsville and Brisbane and were considering adding accessories such as aprons, chopping boards and barbecue gear.

The idea arose from discussions among themselves about what to give to some friends.

He said working out the logistics was the biggest hurdle but they believed they had that covered.

Orders are delivered the same day when booked before 11am but most orders are gifts arranged a day or two in advance.

Mr Kennedy said they had decided on Townsville because so many people in the city were “big meat eaters”.

“I don’t think I will ever leave my full- time job. It’s something a little bit different. We decided to give it a crack,” Mr Kennedy said.

So far a lot of people have jumped on board, indicating Say It With Meat just might catch on.
