Celebs’ irksome marriage views

-

IS ANYONE else tiring of media personalities preaching that any view other than theirs on samesex marriage is wrong?

On one channel we have a presenter backing same- sex marriage just after walking out on his marriage. His pontificating on the meaning of marriage is the ultimate in hypocrisy.

Then on another channel we have a Muslim presenter doing his best to convince a majority Christian population to vote “yes” for SSM. He is yet to tell us which Muslim imam or mosque will be the first to condone a same- sex marriage.

Meanwhile, current TV shows parade celebrities and movie stars to promote SSM.

Why should we be interested in their views of marriage? Many of them will have multiple marriages and just treat marriage as a photo opportunity to be sold to the highest bidding media outlet.

Now the same personalities vilify advertisements by SSM opponents who do not believe schoolchildren should be brainwashed into accepting homosexuality as normal.

It is, in fact, against the order of nature.

You can put two bulls in the best paddock in Australia and they can love each other for the rest of their lives ( or at least until the cows come home) and they will not produce a calf.

If or when same- sex marriage becomes law, no doubt, a couple of angry lesbians will be taking a marriage celebrant to court for refusing to perform a marriage ceremony effectively denying the right to an alternate opinion.

Gay and lesbian couples do have a right to commit to a loving relationship with a commitment ceremony but why must they destroy my belief that marriage is a conventional union of a man and a women? M. JOHNSTON,

Kirwan.
