SUPPORTERS

-

“I will be going to a friend’s house after not checking my phone and cheering on from there a few hours later with some mates.

“One of those friends is a Storm supporter, but any NRL company over here is good company and a bit of competition on the couch could be fun.

“There’s one thing you need in a Storm and that’s a port! Go Townsville! Go NQ! Go Cowboys! If we can stand cyclones, a storm can’t touch us.

“We really are the little engine that could this year.

“We surpassed injury after injury. We have gumption and stickability. I’m so stoked we made it this far. Carn!”

Clint Amos,

contestant and former Cowboys player

“I’m going to the grand final. I can’t wait. I missed the last one and I was absolutely filthy, so Hannah said to me ‘ why don’t you go this time?’

“Last month people had written them off. They’ve got a great winning culture at the moment. They believe they can do it. I’m sort of torn because the Melbourne Storm were the first club to sign me out of high school but I had my first grade debut with the Cow- boys. I’m staying with the Cowboys. I think being a one town, one club situation, there’s a feeling that goes with that. League is the heartbeat of North Queensland. What Paul Green has achieved with the team has been amazing.

“As a Cowboys old boy I’ve definitely seen the club grow in professionalism.

“I’m a big fan of Gavin Cooper ... Taumalolo has absolutely taken the ball into the line, I think he creates a lot of energy, Michael Morgan’s playing out of his skin.

“They know what it takes to win it, they know that all of Queensland, especially North Queensland, is behind them.”

Lee Kernaghan,

country music singer

“So proud to have been a part of writing the original anthem for the Cowboys – C’mon The Cowboys. There is no doubt about it, they are the pride of North Queensland.

“There is a saying up in Queensland that the cream always rises to the top.

So I am hoping this Sunday will be our day.

“It will be great day for the club and the legion of Cowboys supporters around the country.”
