Ads give support to Adani

- DOMANII CAMERON

DAWSON MP George Christensen has purchased newspaper ads to attack the ABC for this week’s Four Corners investigation on Adani.

The advertisement in North Queensland papers, including one in the Townsville Bulletin today, is titled “Is it Our ABC or the Green Left’s ABC?”

Monday’s program questioned the Indian miner’s environmental history while interviewing a raft of experts across the country.

In his ad, Mr Christensen said the program avoided facts while presenting “allegations, accusations and unsubstantiated claims”.

“Monday’s episode relied almost exclusively on commentary from other journalists and green activists, including the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis which is funded by big ( green left) money from the United States, including the Rockefellers,” he said.

The MP said that since the program aired many people had contacted him.

“They were really angry seeing the story from the ABC and quite rightly so,” he said.

“A lot of them ( comments) are old allegations.”

Mr Christensen said people in North Queensland actually paid for the ABC to exist.

“There are many good local ABC journalists in North Queensland who could put together a story on how much communities like Bowen and Townsville have suffered as a result of the ongoing green campaigning against Adani.”
