All signs say Premier is preparing for poll

-

THE Premier of Queensland was elected to govern our state until May next year so why is she and her ministers fuelling the speculation about running before Christmas, six months early?

She claims it’s the media that are the ones that are whipping up the speculation but to see the local three bears woken from their hibernation and plastering the street corners with flag waving supporters and banners is proof that she is getting the troops ready.

I would personally say the sooner the better but if the only reason you are going to call a premature election is to give yourself a better chance of winning then you deserve to be shown the exit door.

How can this be seen as anything else but a government that will do anything it can to clasp hold of the power trip that they have been riding for the past two- and- a- half years.

If before being elected you had announced, as part of your campaign, that you’d call an early election because you thought there was a better chance of retaining your grip on the top job, the people of Queensland would have been saved from having the most stagnant self- serving government in our history.

This Labor government is guilty of putting self- interest ahead of the good of the state and needs to be punished at the polling booths for doing so.

My prediction is that very soon she will recite these words: “To end the media speculation and uncertainty I have decided to call an early election.” Bring it on! MIKE ABRAHAM, KAP candidate for

Mundingburra.
