WORLD’S BEST TEACHERS

-

TEACHERS at William Ross State High School have been inundated with apples as the school community celebrated World Teachers’ Day. Introduced by UNESCO more than 50 years ago, the global day of recognition celebrates the hard work, dedicated and difference that teachers across the world make to children and society.

“Teachers deserve to be recognised because they put in a lot of time and effort to help students achieve their best,” said Year 9 student, Mia Sexton.

Another student, Natalie McFarlane, noted that children around the globe owed their education and futures to teachers.

At William Ross State High School, the student council worked hard to make the day genuinely special by organising ‘ apple- grams’ for teachers, from students.

The ‘ apple- grams’ are thoughtful notes students can send to their teachers, thanking them for their hard work and dedication.

Not to be outdone, William Ross digital art students have handpainted an apple tree located in the school’s resource centre.

The tree is bursting with glittering red and green paper apples filled with lovely notes of appreciation from members of the school community. To add a touch of sweetness to the festivities, the Year 12 Food Practice class also baked delicious cupcakes and biscuits that were hand delivered to each and every teacher by the student council.

To all teachers, thank you!
