White laughs off Horn bout

-

AUSSIE boxer Jeff Horn is no chance of fighting Conor McGregor.

This is the simple message from UFC president Dana White, who described the Queenslander’s chances of fighting the Irish phenomenon as “slim to none”.

Only four months after defeating the iconic Manny Pacquiao, new WBO welterweight champ Horn has gone public with his desire to take down McGregor.

While the UFC megastar was beaten easily in his blockbuster fight with Floyd Mayweather in August, Horn believes the pair can put on a fight people want to see. Not so, says White.

Asked for his odds on Horn landing a fight with the UFC lightweight champion, White laughed: “Slim to none. Everyone wants to fight Conor. Everyone.” But as for who does? “Conor wants to fight ( in the UFC) before the end of the year and I believe we’ll get it done,” he said.

“We’ve always got it done with Conor. Always.

“Ever since he first fought ... we’ve always taken care of him. Always taken him to the next level when we felt it was time. When he’s delivered so have we.”

Earlier this week, McGregor said in a BBC interview — somewhat incredibly — that he could beat Mayweather in a rematch. The Irishman added, however, that he respected the undefeated legend’s decision to retire and could make zero guarantees around a rematch.
