Ex- Olympian granted bail
OLYMPIC swimmer Neil Brooks and his wife Linda will return to their homes overseas despite having to face court in Australia over an alleged $ 1.9 million fraud.
Linda Brooks reappeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court yesterday in her second bid for international freedom.
Magistrate Suzette Coates let Ms Brooks keep her passport after getting assurances from the prosecution. Mr Brooks was also granted bail.
The Brooks are accused of dishonestly inducing Glenn Melcheck to deliver $ 1.95 million to Alfords Operations Pty Ltd, of which they were directors, in 2008.
