Essery on song with six winners

LOCAL trainer Rhonda Essery had an incredible night at the Townsville greyhounds on Tuesday night as she won six of the 11 races.

Her success on the rainy night started in race one, the Angliss Meats Maiden over 380m where Illy Bale scored by 5.25 lengths in 21.97 from the kennelmate Spill The Beer.

Third place went to Cheeky Kaya.

In race two, the Sign Guys Novice over 380m, Essery’s Yogi scored by 4.5 lengths in 22.02 and in race five, the Arunta Prawn Fishing 4/ 5th grade over 380m, with Go Gwan scoring by two lengths in 21.86.

In race seven, the Weise Family Racing 3/ 4th Grade over 380m, Amy’s Elite scored his second consecutiv­e win by half a length in 21.97 and in race 10, the Heath Family 5th Grade over 380m, No Not Me won by 7.25 lengths in a new personal best of 21.93.

Race 11 was the T. G. R. C 5th Grade over 380m, where Pale Face Scotch began well to lead for an all the way win scoring by two lengths from the kennelmate­s Sliding Doors in second and Go Prancer Go in third.

Rockhampto­n trainer Darren Taylor travelled up to give his dog’s a look at the track in preparatio­n for the NQ Cup Heats over 498m, with the heats coming up on the November 28.

In race four, the Lounds Fresh Seafoods 5th Grade over 498m, Usurper scored by a half length in 29.05 at his first look at the track.
