HEATS of the Bohle Barn North Queensland Cup over 498m will headline tonight’s 11- race greyhounds program at the Townsville Showgrounds.

Race 7 is the first heat and there are several quality dogs in this race.

Whatta Pass ( 1) for Glen Olsen is a fair beginner and starts to accelerate mid- race with a good finish. He has a best time of 28.90 seconds and will be a place chance. Asa Abbandando ( 5) for Clarence Wilcox can begin on his night and finish on strongly with a best time of 28.65.

Natty’s On Fire ( 6) for Jay Schafer has explosive speed from the boxes, but prefers close to the rail. She has not started since September.

Slow Dancer ( 4) for Glen Olsen can begin on her night and also prefers closer to the rail, but she has a best time of 28.85.

Rocket’s Magic ( 8) for Robert Lound hasn’t raced since September, but he is the class dog in the field.

Huckabee ( 2) for Rhonda Essery is drawn well and he can begin. He will be the big danger in this field.

Meanwhile, race 8 is the second heat with another quality field.

Bruton Miss ( 2) for Robert Lound has good box speed, she is drawn well and has a best time of 28.83.

Usurper ( 5) for Darren Taylor has had one start over the distance for a win in 29.05. He has good box speed and should be up with the front runners.

Old Mate Kick ( 6) for Joan Newnham began well last week from the eight – leading all the way in 29.23 – and he will improve on the run.

Innocent Man ( 7) for Glen Olsen prefers closer to the rail, but he has a strong finish with a best time of 28.77 so has eachway claims.
