SPRINKLE OF MOVIE MAGIC

-

the most wonderful time of the year. And no I don’t mean summer — in Tropical North Queensland that’s the worst ( weather wise anyway) time of the year.

Of course I mean Christmas, and with tomorrow being December 1, it’s officially time to dust off the baubles, untangle the tinsel and pull out your collection of Christmas DVDs. The festive season has arrived!

Just last week Netflix dropped its December release schedule and boy is it festive. We’re talking Christmas classics like Miracle on 34th Street and the cult holiday hit Jingle All The Way.

Who doesn’t like Arnold Schwarzenegger yelling abuse at strangers because he can’t find the present his son so desperately wants? That, my friends, is a plot.

But for this guy the Christmas cake can go to only one film. One reigns supreme well above the rest, and you know it’s only a matter of time before one of the free to airs gives it a run for the billionth time. Ladies and gentleman can we get a huge round of applause for Love Actually? The who’s who of English film stars all together in one loved- up, festive masterpiece.

This is a Christmas film that has it all: romance, laughter, a particularly creepy scene with the guy from The Walking Dead professing his love to his best mate’s wife, and even Hugh Grant interpretative dancing.

Grab the popcorn and candy canes because we’re in for one long, jolly run up to the big day.

Merry Christmas Townsville! I can officially say that as of today, yeah?
