Nation still has much to learn about wealth creation

-

THANK you everyone, especially the nearly 30 per cent who voted for One Nation and I in the electorate of Burdekin.

Unfortunately I was not able to bring back some balance of power to the North so we now must deal with whatever government is delivered.

It may get worse before it gets better I am afraid as any hope of a government understanding the need to supply all Queenslanders with essentials like water security, reliable cheap energy, effective roads and efficient rail services are just not there. The cost of doing business this state and country are in going up and up and with more handouts and the ever increasing amount of government jobs, creating a false sense of security and sending us deeper into debt.

One day again we will understand that to create more wealth means we have more to share around with those less fortunate. We may still live in one of the best nations on the planet but in 1964, the year I was born, author Donald Horne wrote a book called The Lucky Country.

I hope that 53 years on what he wrote is not still true today.

It was reported that Horne’s intent in writing the book was to document Australia’s climb to power and wealth.

He believed it was based almost entirely on luck rather than our political or economic system, which he believed was “second rate”. SAM COX, One Nation Burdekin candidate.
