BENDIGO Bank has relocated its North Queensland headquarters and Castletown branch to the Hyde Park Centre.

The bank has leased a 306sq m tenancy at the complex on Woolcock St with the branch at the front and their headquarters, which were previously on Sturt St in the city, out the back.

Bendigo Bank North Queensland regional manager Geoff Power said they decided to move because they wanted greater exposure as they continue to expand their customer base in North Queensland.

He said the Hyde Park Centre was the perfect choice because it had frontage on to Woolcock St, convenient parking for customers and was close to both the city and several suburban areas.

“We positioning our branch for the future in Townsville,” Mr Power said.

“The redevelopment of Cas- tletown was also going to impact us fairly heavily. We liked the access, the parking and the exposure the Hyde Park Centre provided.”

An extensive fitout of the space taking six weeks has now been completed and the new branch is open for business.

Colliers International leasing agent Shaun McLaren said Bendigo Bank had signed on a for a five- year term and it would be a welcome addition to the Hyde Park Centre.

“I think it’s a great fit for this centre because you’ve got good exposure and parking but there is a lot of similar professional services being offered,” he said. “We’re happy to get such a great tenant in the Hyde Park Centre, which is becoming a really popular destination centre.”
