GAMING TWEAKS TURN BACK CLOCK

-

the six- year- old age, The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim lives on in as many gaming platforms that Bethesda Game Studios can port it to.

But why is that possible? In the past year alone there has been a special edition, porting to the Nintendo Switch, and also a Virtual Reality version! What a rocking veteran.

Yes, much of the hate seems to be driven by the supposed flogging of an old and tired game. Make something new people shout, stop rehashing old things! But what makes it stand up against all of this?

First and foremost, credit must first go to Bethesda for allowing modders the ability to mess with their baby, and secondly to the modders themselves.

Essentially the game has been reborn a hundred times over by these people who tirelessly toil on tweaks and add- ons, both major and minor, to the game, which breathes new life as though it were brand new.

It’s reaching a point where there’s enough differing content spanning millions of individual downloads, the modders could’ve made the next Elder Scrolls game by now.

I love that a game so revered can also be so eagerly mocked by the community in the form of memes. I don’t get the hate, but maybe that’s the new way to be cool this decade?

I’m not certain; I never found a way to be cool.

Anyway, Skyrim continues to outlive games half its age. I for one think it’s brilliant value for money.
