Clinic provides best of care

-

GENTLEMEN, pay attention.

It’s becoming increasingly evident that you’re shocking at going to see the doctor about that nagging ache or mysterious pain you keep putting up with but do nothing about.

Well the team at Kirwan GP Clinic have a message for you: going to the doctors is not that bad. In fact, it’s the best way to fix all your gripes and ailments so you can enjoy a happy new year.

“At Kirwan GP Clinic, we’re here to make your visit to the doctors as friendly and welcoming as possible,” said practice manager Justine Donoghue.

“It’s a bright and positive atmosphere here, and we know that people need to be looked after, especially men.

“Once we get them through the door we need to make sure we take good care of them.”

Of course, it’s not just males who receive the best medical help possible from the Kirwan GP Clinic. It’s a clinic for the whole family.

“We see everyone in the family, from newborn bubs up to the grandparents,” Ms Do- let’s please noghue said. “We do appointments plus walk- ins, and we know people are time- poor so have extended hours so people can always drop in after school or work.”

While Kirwan GP Clinic is a bulk- billing clinic, the team makes certain there’s no compromise to the level of personal service their patients receive.

“When people walk into our clinic, we want them to feel like a person, not a number,” Ms Donoghue said. “We may be a bulk- billing clinic, but we’re here to look after our patients.

“From the staff at reception to the team of doctors who provide a wide range of specialty skills and services, Kirwan GP Clinic is all about providing professional, personal care.”

That wide range of skills and services includes family medicine, skin checks, childhood immunisations, women’s health, chronic disease management, minor surgeries, workers compensation, mental health care planning, indigenous health, shared care with residential aged care facilities and much more.

“Dr Amrit Singh opened the clinic in 2014,” Ms Donoghue said. “We now have eight doctors including Dr Stella Omache, who joined us a couple of weeks ago and brings her specialty skills in women’s and children’s health.”

Dr Kanwal Preet Singh’s special interests include antenatal care and WorkCover.

Dr Farhan focuses on holistic care for all ages and stages of life. Dr Meenal Barwal has been with the clinic since 2015 and specialises in women’s health and family planning.

Dr Praba’s special interests include indigenous health, mental health and chronic disease management.

Dr Prashant Jain joined the clinic as recently as October this year after previously working at the Townsville Hospital, while Dr Kiran Yadav Myla has become the newest member of the clinic team of doctors.

“We’re always out and about so we all need to make sure we take good care to maintain a healthy lifestyle,” Ms Donoghue said.

“It includes skin checks and making sure we take care when there’s something nasty going around.”

If it’s time for you to see a doctor, make an appointment today or simply drop into the Kirwan GP Clinic and meet Justine and the team.

You will find them at 36 Thuringowa Drive, Kirwan, or you can give them a call on 4723 5700. You can also go to www. ki r wangpclinic. c om. au and book online.
