Club pictures bright future
KEEN photographers have banded together to form their own snap- happy club, open to one and all.
The North Queensland Camera Group Inc. is for anyone interested in photography or looking to improve technical skill and creativity in a friendly and supportive environment.
The group will meet monthly and cater for all level of photographers from beginners to intermediate and advanced.
President Maureen Carthy said after a few members discussed starting the club, it happened quickly.
“We were very fortunate we already had some passionate photographers who wanted to start the group,” she said.
“Our aim is to make the camera club bigger than anything that’s been seen in the North before. It’s a longterm dream, but we are moving very quickly.”
A passionate fine arts photographer, Ms Carthy said she loved teaching people about the activity.
Field trips and social activities are planned for the group with regular out- oftown excursions a feature of the annual calendar.
Ms Carthy said they would try to provide several options for everyone in their mission to be the biggest club of its kind in North Queensland. Individual, associate and junior memberships are now available with reasonably priced membership fees. More info: nqcg. org. au
