Mobility business expands for NDIS

- CHRISTIE ANDERSON

A TOWNSVILLE mobility business has moved into a new location, quadrupling their space as they continue to expand.

Complete Mobility and Rehab has taken on a new lease, moving from a 150sq m premises into a 500sq m showroom at 10 Keane St, Currajong.

They opened in the new location three weeks ago after moving and repainting in a single weekend.

Complete Mobility and Rehab director Lissa Fleming said they were bursting at the seams in their previous warehouse and their clients were loving the new bigger premises.

“We started three years ago originally on my back patio and then we moved to the old warehouse, but we were out of space so then we moved here,” she said.

“The clients love it because there is so much space and it’s really bright and airy.”

The business specialises in equipment for the disabled and elderly, ranging from walking sticks to complex rehabilitation equipment.

Ms Fleming said the mobility industry was continuing to expand.

“The NDIS ( National Disability Insurance Scheme) is now starting to do approvals,” she said.

“With this new location we’re now also able to do a lot more retail business whereas previously we did a lot more of the high- end rehabilitation equipment, so we were out a lot with the equipment rather than inside the store.”

Ray White Commercial agent Troy Townsend, who secured the lease, said it was great to see a locally owned business expanding and the premises had been a perfect fit, as it had housed another mobility business previously.

“They started in a 150sq m warehouse and now they have 500sq m,” he said.

“The disability service industry is growing massively.”
