How dare you rob us

-

DEAR Ms O’Toole,

Surely your boss must be kidding?

But it’s not the 1st of April yet, so he mustn’t be.

Ms O’Toole, surely you can’t be in favour of taking the hard- earned money of pensioners away?

Because that is what your party is intending to do – take away their own money, not taxpayers money – their own money earned from invest- ment; earned from their own savings in super. How dare you!

Tell me, how come it’s OK not to touch the money earned from super investments in say – the Future Fund – the Future Fund is where, oh, the money for government employees is invested and earned over $ 600 million last year in interest – does that mean you, too?

You and all parliamentarians?

How come the not- for- profit unions won’t be touched either? Unions who have millions in their accounts?

They are really businesses and should be taxed, but no, the Labor Party is beholden to that rabble and it wouldn’t do to upset your prime donors would it.

How come part and fulltime low income pensioners who have scrimped and saved and not been on holidays for all their married lives, who’ve invested in their retirement, are targeted because of your party’s insane politics of envy?

Pensioners who have served this country in time of conflict, and been injured too?

Pensioners who’ve owned small businesses and employed thousands across the board?

Pensioners whose only reliance on a bit of extra money coming in to help pay bills such as rising electricity costs.

You want to take that away from them.

Ms O’Toole, sadly you won the seat of Herbert by a measly 37 votes on the back of Hanson preferences. Joyously, come the next election, if Bill Shorten is sticking with his plan to rob pensioners of their money, you will not be elected.

You can count on my number one vote going to the LNP. COLLEEN WALKER,

Mt Louisa
