B& R makes good move Company signs five- year lease

- CHRISTIE ANDERSON

NATIONAL manufacturing business B& R Enclosures has reaffirmed their commitment to Townsville signing a fiveyear lease for a modern office and warehouse.

They are now based at 780 Ingham Rd in Mount Louisa after moving into the new premises earlier this year.

B& R head of business development and training Gavin Hall said the new premises better met their business needs.

“The office space was better and the warehouse is identical at 500sq m,” he said.

“We moved from Dalrymple Rd because this better suited our business.

“We don’t have many walk- in clients so location wasn’t a big consideration for us.”

They have two manufacturing plants, one in Adelaide and the other in Brisbane as well as nine warehouses across the country.

The company’s product range includes residential and commercial enclosures, electronic enclosures, data racks and cabinets, industrial and mining enclosures, switchboards, hazardous area equipment and custom enclosures.

Mr Hall said a Townsville warehouse was necessary to ensure they could transport stock quickly and economically to clients across North Queensland.

“It’s about having stock near the customer,” he said.

“We manufacture everything from the meter box on the side of houses right through to mining, supply electrical contractors which is a big part our business, industrial contractors and data technicians.

“The core of our business is electrical enclosures.”

Shaun McLaren from Colliers International who negotiated the lease said the deal showed the company’s commitment to the Townsville region.

“It’s great to see a national company taking a five- year lease in Townsville,” he said.

“They chose a facility that suits them because it has a high clearance warehouse and a really good office component.”
