THE board of Australian exservice organisation Mates4Mates has announced the appointment of their new chief executive officer.

Troy Watson joins Mates4Mates following four years as the CEO at Northern Territory Cricket, where he played an integral role in the transformation of the organisation’s presence increasing participation in the sport by 90 per cent throughout his tenure.

Having spent 8 ½ years as an officer in the Royal Australian Navy, Mr Watson said he was looking forward to combining his Defence experience and business acumen in his role as CEO of Mates4Mates.

“I am looking forward to learning about Mates4Mates national Family Recovery Centres, and the scope of services offered within these, as well as working with our corporate partners,” Mr Watson said. “Most of all, I look forward to meeting our Mates and learning about their journeys and experiences they have had with the organisation.”

Announcing Mr Watson’s appointment, Mates4Mates chairman Rick Ralph said the board undertook a stringent recruitment process to ensure the chosen candidate had both the skills- based business knowledge required to fulfil the role, as well as a passion for supporting current and exserving Australian Defence Force personnel.

“With Troy’s leadership, I have no doubt Mates4Mates will continue to be a leading ex- service organisation, with the health and wellbeing of our wounded, injured and ill veterans, and their families, at the forefront of everything we do,” Mr Ralph said.
