Paul to sing for royals

-

INGHAM tenor Paul Ettore Tabone will perform in front of Prince Harry and fiancee Meghan Markle at the official Anzac Day commemorations in London’s Hyde Park.

The tenor is starring in the lead role of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera.

He was approached by the Australian High Commission in the United Kingdom to commemorate Anzac Day, according to his agents, Ambrose Artist Management.

“When I accepted the invitation to sing at this sacred annual event that has always meant so much to me I had no idea in whose presence I would be performing, I just wanted to honour our servicemen and women and show my appreciation for their sacrifices,” he said. “I was extremely nervous and excited when we were told that we would have a royal audience.”

He said he was “absolutely thrilled to be able to sing for the Royal family, especially Prince Harry and his fiancee ( pictured below) ahead of their wedding”.

“It really is a o n c e - i n - a - l i f e - time opportunity. I am so excited to share this o c c a s i o n with my Australian colleague Amy Manford, who performs the role of Christine Daaé ( alternate) here on West End, and to honour all of those servicemen and women who lost their lives so we could live free.” Anzac Day has been commemorated in London since the first anniversary of the Anzac landings at Gallipoli in 1916, when King George V attended a service at Westminster Abbey and more than 2000 Australian and New Zealand troops marched through the streets. Tabone, who performed at the 2013 Ingham Australian Italian Festival, has appeared alongside such opera greats as Andrea Bocelli and Placido Domingo.
