Barbie central to return

- CHRISTIE ANDERSON

BARBEQUES Galore will open at Domain Central on Monday after being absent from Townsville for the past three years.

The new store will bring specialised services and a huge barbecue range to Townsville.

Barbeques Galore store owner Raj Khanal said that he was expecting the Townsville community to embrace the return of the iconic store.

“We are thrilled to be bringing Barbeques Galore back to Townsville.

“It will allow the local community an opportunity to shop one of Australia’s biggest collections of barbecues, outdoor furniture and heating, as well as our range of items dedicated to ‘ low and slow cooking’,” he said.

Barbeques Galore stocks outdoor furniture, barbecues, barbecue accessories and heating.

The company now has more than 90 stores across Australia.

The new store follows Domain Central unveiling its $ 6 million The Market Place development earlier this year.

The development featured smaller tenancies and now houses Armi’s IGA, hair salon Ebony Empire and Health 4 Life Nutrition.

Domain Central centre manager Sandy Corbett said that Barbeques Galore was an addition that would complement the centre’s existing retail mix.

“As Queensland’s largest homemaker, lifestyle and out- let centre, the opening of Barbeques Galore is another example of the work we are doing to deliver a dynamic retail offer for Townsville,” she said.

Domain Central in Garbutt is home to more than 60 homemaker and lifestyle brands.
